Baxter’s Fenwal Division project involved the development of a model that simulates flows in modified blood processing and collection. The model pointed out the different capacities and operation strategies to minimize handling and increase efficiency. Multiple scenarios were developed along with detailed comparisons among them.

Florida Hospital
In order to improve the internal bed allocation, and improve the response of the Emergency room, Florida Hospital in Orlando used Simcad Pro to model the all processes related to bed allocation, bed availability, cleaning crew availability, ER arrival rate, and outpatient arrivals for both surgical and non-surgical procedures.

ABN Amro Bank/LaSalle Bank
Bill collection division of ABN Amro receives in excess of 4,000 mail pieces an hour that need to be sorted and processed effectively. Due to the labor-intensive aspect of the operation, ABN Amro worked with CreateASoft to develop simulation models that show efficiency problems in the existing operation. The project also involved the submission of solution scenarios to increase efficiency and reduce delays.

Bechtel-SAIC
Simcad Pro is being used as the core simulation tool for the department of energy - radioactive waste management- to model resources and resource availability as a constraint of the overall logistics and planning. In addition, contingency planning and cost analysis is also performed.

Capacity Planning

Tropicana distribution
Tropicana distribution centers run a number of automated stacking robots that handle juice boxes in a large refrigerated warehouse. A detailed model was built to detect deficiencies in the conveyor-to-robot interface, which caused the line to run at slower speeds. Modifications to the behavior increased the capacity to near 90% efficiency.

Cox Automation
As part of the bidding process to acquire new business, simulation experts at CreateASoft worked with Cox Automation to provide a model for a multi-million dollar project. The model included multiple scenarios that can be dynamically modified during the presentation, hence allowing for an interactive discussion on the optimum quantity of equipment needed to achieve the performance required.

ATI Systems
A leader in factory automation uses Simcad Pro to demonstrate solution feasibility of a new conveyor line implementation for a major automotive manufacturer. Total value of this project (we now have the contract and purchase order) will exceed $1.8 million.

Calvary Automation
Calvary Automation is using Simcad Pro to model and validate the operations of multiple robot implementation and their interaction with an active conveyor system. An elaborate logic is implemented to allow robot bypass in case of failure. Multiple reject rates and efficiencies were also simulated.
